Elevated Dermatology and Skin Cancer Surgery Center, PC

Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy my experience at this dermatologist at all. The staff (as in reception) were kind enough, but I found it kind of outrageous that I was there for an hour total, and 50 mins was spent waiting by myself, while only 5-10 mins were spent actually talking to the doctor/derm tech (honestly I have no idea who that lady was — she seemed like a derm tech) because the doctor was “overbooked.” It seemed like multiple patients had this experience. Talking to the derm tech (? Or whoever she was) was awkward and demoralizing to say the least. She was barely listening, and not taking any notes, but the experience with the doctor, was worse. I came into to discuss mild acne, and explicitly said I wanted to know more about my skin type and how to nourish it (it’s clear the derm tech didn’t relay this information). The doctor came in, and without asking me any additional questions said “can I look at your scalp?” And then proceeded to “diagnose” me with some kind of scalp condition that I literally do not have. I’m also a black woman, and we have different hair and hair upkeep processes than other races, so I found it discouraging and sad that the doctor seemed to have no understanding of that. He then proceeded to quick- fire rattle off 3 topical creams and ointments to prescribe me without giving me the time and patience to really understand what he was prescribing me — like really? You must do better. I didn’t even pick that stuff up from the pharmacy. I’m sure this is an overall good Doctor (not mentioning his name because he was nice and I don’t feel it to be necessary — but I do hope he sees this and takes it as constructive criticism of his practice) and Doctor’s office, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t share my personal experience. It’s been nearly 3 weeks and I’m still shaking my head.

Dr. Kate Messana is an amazing Dermatologist! I came to Dr. Kate a year ago about skin issues I have had since I was 7 years old. Dr. Kate listened to me and focused on my concerns I have been worried about for over 30 years. Her knowledge about my skin condition not only put my mind at ease, she gave me the comfort of knowing that everything will get better by just being personable about my story. From the bottom of my heart Dr. Kate, thank you so much for taking the time to hear me and care. I have never been happier in relief of how beautiful my skin looks TODAY!!!! I can walk outside without wearing any makeup or work in my kitchen without worrying about my skin breaking out. I highly recommend Elevated Dermatology. Their staff is very welcoming. I'm very happy.

Annual skin cancer screening appointment! The Staff was professional and courteous. Easy to book appointments and Dr. Kate is awesome. Very attentive, makes you feel comfortable and answers all your questions. I was diagnosed with a small issue and within minutes had a plan of action. Took care of things in the office, so no follow up appointment needed. Highly recommend...

Dr. Zach is a super doctor. His attention to detail and meticulousness definitely show in the results. And Ana, the medical assistant, goes above and beyond to assist patients with insurance issues such as pre-authorizations, medical necessity letters. W/out all her effort on my behalf, there is no way that I would have successfully made the insurance company cover a drug that I definitely needed.

This place is fantastic - I highly recommend! The staff is friendly, incredibly helpful, and they respond with a much appreciated sense of urgency. I met with Dr. Zachary Jones - he is very knowledgeable and left me feeling confident in the care I’m receiving. I also had a great experience with Ana. I got new insurance and processing the prescription for my specialty medication was a big concern. Ana handled everything - she found me a new pharmacy, got my prescription approved, and even helped me out with a dose of my medication to make sure it doesn’t get missed while I get set up with the new pharmacy. Top notch service, for sure!

Dr Kate and her whole team are wonderful. They have helped me immensely with my skin treatments. They are kind, considerate and wonderful at what they do. I always feel so comfortable and taken care of here. Krista, the aesthetics coordinator is amazing. She overseas the whole process when I visit and can’t speak highly enough about her. I’ve had negative experiences at other dermatologists before and won’t see anyone else now that I’ve found them. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
